She met her bandmates at her new school after she moved from Mississippi to Tennessee. The Factory, a local funk band in her small Tennessee town, was the first group she ever tried out for.
She had a cross tattooed on her thigh as a sign of her Christian beliefs, which influenced her #1 2013 album, Paramore.
She dated Paramore's Guitarist Josh Farro for three years. She married New Found Glory Guitarist Chad Gilbert on February 20, 2016; however, they announced they were separating in July 2017.
She is joined in Paramore by Guitarist Taylor York.
