Alexander Putilov was born on January 01, 1952 in Russia. Before 1993 Alexander Putilov headed production company Urayneftegaz, in April of the same year he was appointed president of state-owned oil company Rosneft. After he left Rosneft in 1998 he worked as a special representative from British Petroleum/Amoco to oil company Sidanko. In 2004 he became co-owner of a drilling company founded by billionaire Alexander Djaparidze, which is now called Eurasia Drilling. A former mechanic, he started his career as a fitter in oil fields.
