Perhaps better known by his professional name of "The Normal," this electronic, new wave, and post-punk Producer and disc jockey founded an English music label known as Mute Records.
Before beginning his music career, he was a student in the television and film program at the Guildford School of Art.
He released some of his later-career remixes under the alias of "Sunroof."
He was born and raised in London, England.
He once toured with vocalist Jake Burns and other members of the Northern Irish punk band Stiff Little Fingers.
