Graduating from Bullitt East High School, he was the first in his class to commit to the University of Kentucky.
During both his freshman and sophomore year at the University of Kentucky, he made the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Born to Trudy and Del Willis, he has two sisters, Ashley and Kylee, and one brother, Taylor.
He played alongside star point guard Tyler Ulis as a member of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
