Female Golfer from Detroit who won twenty-four LPGA Tour events, including four Majors. She received the PGA First Lady of Golf Award in 2009.
She picked up golf at five years old and won the Los Angeles Junior Championships in 1956.
She became a Golf Channel announcer following her retirement and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Her father Harry taught her to play golf. She married Edward Byrnes in July 2006.
She and Mickey Wright are the first two golfers to win two straight U.S. Women's Opens.
