Qatari politician who rose to worldwide fame as the 4th Prime Minister of Qatar between 2007-2013. He previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1992-2013.
He earned his breakthrough in Qatari government when serving as the director of the office of the minister of municipal affairs and agriculture between 1982-1989.
He was given an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Lebanese American University in 2010. He assisted in the settlement agreement between the Sudan and Chad in Africa in 2009.
He married his second wife Noor Al Subaie in 1996. His great uncle Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani was the founder of modern Qatar.
He served under Hamad Bin khalifa al Thani during his time as Emir between 1995-2013.
