Wushu martial arts champion and actor who won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor for the 2007 film The Warlords. He has also appeared in the action films Lethal Weapon 4 and Romeo Must Die.
At age eight, he began rigorously training in the martial arts, joining the Beijing Wushu Team.
He began practicing Tibetan Buddhism when he was young, and became the lifelong apprentice of Lho Kunsang of the Kagyu school.
He was married to Huang Qiuyan from 1987 to 1990. He married Nina Li chi, a Hong Kong-based Actress, in 1999. He has four daughters named Jane, Taimi, Si and Jada.
He appeared alongside Jackie Chan in The Forbidden Kingdom, which was based on the Chinese folk legend of the Monkey King.
