Before Fame
In 1977 he moved to Nashville, TN to pursue country music. He looked for any work he could find, including as a roofer at the famous Grand Ole Opry, and performed his music in venues by night, eventually finding success with his first single "I've Got a Feelin' (Somebody's Been Stealin')."
