Japanese video game designer and Illustrator most famous for having designed and drawn all 151 characters in the original Pokemon franchise. He has worked on many incarnations of the franchise, including the films, manga and card games.
He worked as an Illustrator on the Gaming fanzine Game Freak in the early-to-mid 80's. He later had a hand in the development of the 1989 arcade game Mendel Palace.
He has also done illustration and art design work for the Super Smash Bros. series of video games.
He as born in Tokyo, Japan.
He and Satoshi Tajiri are two of the co-creators of the Pokemon franchise.
