The photo posted to Reddit was a high school yearbook photo. His friend Ian Davies posted the photo in January of 2012.
The popular photo was printed on t-shirts, stuffed animals and other items that were sold in Walmart and Hot Topic. Companies including Volkswagen paid to use the photo.
He built churches for his father's construction Business.
