Nepalese mountain climber who had set the world record for the fastest climb to the top of Mount Everest in his 10th trip to the summit. He completed the climb in 10 hours 56 minutes and 46 seconds. Other summits he has reached include Cho Oyu and Ama Dablam in the Himalayas.
His exact birth date is not confirmed as his hometown does not record birth dates, but it is reportedly June 6, 1967. He was raised in the Solukhumbu of Nepal.
He struggled financially after moving to Utah in December of 2006. Eventually, he began working as a guide for Alpine Ascents International.
His older brother died while climbing Annapurna in 1991. His youngest brother has also climbed Mount Everest. He and his wife Fulli have children named Ang Dawa, Nima, and Tashi.
He and Jordan Romero are both record setting climbers of Mount Everest.
