Polish born Argentine chess Grandmaster who is best known for his Najdorf Variation, one of the most respected and deeply studied of all chess openings.
He represented Poland in four pre-war Chess Olympiads before moving to Argentina to escape Nazism.
He became an international name after his 1929 match with Glucksberg that became known as The Polish Immortal.
He was born and raised in a Jewish family in Warsaw, Poland.
He was coached by chess legend Savielly Tartakower.
