Born Camille Tan Hojilla, she was cast in an episode of the Filipino fantasy soap opera Krystala when she was six years old.

She grew up in the Philippines, where she counted fellow actresses Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo among her closest friends. She has a younger sister.
