She was born in Venezuela, and her family moved to Florida when she was sixteen and she studied theater at the University of Central Florida.

She was married to Thomas Henry Berry from 2008 to 2013. They had one daughter together and were attempting to reconcile when they were both shot and killed in a robbery attempt.
