Former prima ballerina who has danced with companies like The Royal Ballet in London and the American Ballet Theatre in New York.
She was accepted into the Imperial Ballet School when she was 12.
In addition to her career as a ballerina, she also performed on Broadway, and won a Tony award for her performance in On Your Toes.
She married husband Edward Karkar in 1976; they had one son.
She and Dancer Erik Bruhn have both spent time performing with the American Ballet Theatre in New York.
