Notable for albums such as Meet the Queen of Country Music (1974), Blanket on the Ground (1975), and Queen of the Silver Dollar (1976), this Northern Irish vocalist is also well known for a duet with Ray Lynam titled "My Elusive Dreams."
Before performing with her first music group, the Old Cross Ceili Band (later renamed Old Cross Bandshow and The Country Flavour), she worked at a clothing factory.
She performed at both New York's Carnegie Hall and Nashville's Grand Ole Opry.
A native of Pomeroy, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, she married Tom Quinn and raised children named Carol, Mary, and Aiden. She is the aunt of The Voice UK winner Andrea Begley.
Her 1975 cover of Billie Joe Spears' "Blanket on the Ground" rose to a top five position on Irish music charts.
