Former athlete and top male model Rick Edwards made his notable beginning on cinema in the Italian middle age saga _Paladini - storia d'armi e d'amori, I" (1983)_, playing the role of Orlando, a Christian knight, who travels the countryside at the time of Crusades in quest to kill a Moor prince, played by Ron Moss. Born in Northfield, Massachusetts, Rick Edwards educated University in Amherst, where he is noticed in the oar team. He becomes a professional and rows four years with the New York Athletic Club, even taking part in the world championships of 1978. That allows him to be noticed by an agent who makes him begin a career of model. Regularly on the cover of Gentleman Quarterly, an equivalent of Vogue, he makes also advertizing. Favorite model of the manufacturer Ford, he finds time to practise boxing, but it is a disadvised profession for a mannequin, and he stops after two years, full of regrets. Tired of being a male model he went on to appeared in supporting roles in small films, wishing to become an actor. He took a part in Skatetown, U.S.A. (1979) and TV serial High Performance (1983). 2009

Edwards hosted a Saturday evening radio show on XFM entitled The Weekender for several years, hosting his last show on 10 January 2009. He also formed part of the BBC presenting team for their coverage of the Reading and Leeds Festival. In 2011 Edwards began hosting E4's Tool Academy, a reality TV show about fed-up girlfriends who have enrolled their underperforming other halves in a school in which "tools become men". During the 2012 Paralympics, Edwards formed part of the Channel 4 commentary team as well as co-presenting That Paralympic Show with Ade Adepitan.

2010

Edwards stated in an interview with the Daily Mail that he has no sense of smell due to sniffing pure ammonia while in school. Edwards supported green organisation Global Cool in 2010 as part of their Traincation campaign, along with his friend George Lamb.

2013

In 2013, Edwards began co-presenting political discussion show Free Speech for BBC Three alongside Tina Daheley. During the 2015 General Election, they presented a series of Free Speech specials.

2015

In December 2015, Edwards began hosting a radio podcast series for Radio Wolfgang called Science(ish), in which he and a group of experts investigate the merits of scientific elements in works of popular culture such as movies, television and literature.
