Bollywood actor who earned a 2011 Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in Do Dooni Chaar. In 2008, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.
He had his first small acting role at age 20 in the 1972 film, Mera Naam Joke.
He also gained fame for roles in the 2006 film Fanaa and the 2009 film Love Aaj Kal.
He married Neetu Singh in 1979. The couple have two children, Ranbir and Riddhima. Ranbir Kapoor is also an actor.
He had a supporting role opposite Rani Mukerji in the 2004 film, Hum Tum.
