He is known for being the co-founder of the successful film production company Excel Entertainment. He is known for having developed and helped create a new genre of filmmaking in Indian cinema.
He first began his career when he worked with his families Business Marlex Appliances. Soon after he began a production company with his close friend in 2000.
He has won several awards for his producing including the award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 49th National Film Awards for his work on the 2002 film Dil Chahta Hai.
He was born and raised in Mumbai, India.
He has worked alongside actors Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar on the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
