Rugby fullback and fly-half who is known for his time with the Glasgow Warriors club of the Pro12 league. He has also played as a member of Scotland's national rugby team since 2012.
He began his amateur rugby career as a member of the Hadwick RFC. He also played for Scotland's U-17, U-18, and U-20 teams before earning his senior team call-up.
In 2015, he played an integral role in helping the Glasgow Warriors to a Pro12 championship title. That same year, he competed as a regular member of the Scottish national rugby team at the Six Nations tournament.
His father, John, and brother, Graham, have also played professional rugby. He and his partner Gillian Smith gave birth to their son Archie in November 2015.
He discovered his distant ancestry to famous English footballer George Best in 2012 following his Scottish national team debut.
