Knitting expert who is best known for her toy designs, sock patterns and shawl designs. She is a best-selling knitting book author, designer, award-winning blogger and writer. Her knitting books include titles such as Itty-Bitty Hats, Itty-Bitty Toys and Kindred Knits. She has earned more than 90,000 followers on her susanbanderson Instagram account.
She taught herself to knit one summer as a teenager. She went to college and started teaching middle school. She retired from teaching public school in 1996 and started designing knitwear for children and babies.
She worked as a freelance designer for many top yarn companies, magazines and independent companies. She co-founded a company called Barrett Wool Co. For the holiday season, she has posted examples of her festive creations to Instagram.
