An influential Sports columnist for the Denver Post who also regularly paneled ESPN's talk show Around the Horn and co-hosted Cold Pizza.
After graduation the University of Tennessee, he wrote for the Knoxville Journal and the Rocky Mountain News of Denver, joining the Post in 1981.
As a longtime Sports Journalist, he became a member of the Hall of Fame selection committees of both the MLB and the NFL.
He was born in Memphis, Tennessee.
