Israeli multimedia artist, filmmaker, and photographer. Her past work has encompassed various mediums including photography, film, video, sound, and installation. Some of her work has been featured at museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Tate Modern in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Her features for the Jewish Museum of Berlin is some of her most famous work.
She first studied art at the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem, where she focused on photography. She then left Israel in 1997 and completed her master's degree at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her work began getting featured in the year 2002.
She went on a year-long photography trip to Africa. She once had a dream to become a National Geographic photographer. She represented Poland at the 54th Venice Biennale in the year 2011.
She grew up in Kfar Yehezkel in Israel. Her father was a veterinarian and amateur photographer who passed away from an illness in the year 2009. She has a brother and a sister. She has a son named Emil with her German partner Saskia Wendland.
