Former wife of Juvenal Habyarimana, Rwanada's President from 1973 to 1994. She had a strong influence in the country leading up to the tragic Rwandan Genocide.
She was born into one of Rwanda's more powerful Hutu families before meeting her Future husband.
She was arrested by the French government in 2010 for her involvement in the Rwandan Genocide.
She was married to the President of Rwanda, Juvenal Habyarimanan, until his assassination in 1994.
Her husband was preceded by Gregoire Kayibanda as President of Rwanda.
