Quarterback who was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He became the first quarterback in NFL history to make his first career start in a playoff game against the Houston Texans.
He was redshirted during his first season at Michigan State in 2011; although he went on to lead them to victories in the Cotton Bowl, Rose Bowl and Big Ten Championship Game.
During his collegiate career, he was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player of the 2013 Big Ten Championship Game and the 2014 Rose Bowl.
His father Chris played tight end at Indiana University. His mother Donna and sister Jackie were both college basketball players.
He has been coached by Mark Dantonio at Michigan State University.
