Icelandic operatic soprano and songwriter who began her career as a folk singer.
She studied music and singing at the Reykjavík College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
She performed at a special concert in Beijing, China in the Forbidden City Concert Hall, which was held to commemorate thirty years of relations between Iceland and China.
She married musician Þorkell Jóelsson.
She was born in the same country as singer Bjork.
