Multi-instrumentalist and veteran of the Stan Kenton Orchestra. He also was the assistant Director of the Royal Hawaiian Band.
He attended the Los Angeles City College and went on to record many solos, including on "Stairway to the Stars."
Theo Garneau wrote the book If It Swings, It's Music: The Autobiography of Hawaii's Gabe Baltazar Jr. in 2012.
He was born in Hilo, Hawaii.
Baltazar played in the orchestra of The Pat Boone Show.
