He and the other members of Lawson covered songs by Bruno Mars and Adele while building an online fanbase. He dropped out of school in 2009, by 2011 the band had been signed to a record deal.
Chapman Square, the band's debut album, reached number four on the UK Albums Chart.
He grew up with one sister. In 2016, he lost his father.
