Winner of the 1991 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition who has worked as a prolific recording Artist with Nonesuch Records.
He graduated from Harvard University in 1991 and moved to New York City soon after, ending up immersed in the jazz scene there.
He has made guest appearances on not only Reading Rainbow, but also Arthur.
He was born and raised in Berkeley, California.
His father is famous Saxophonist Dewey Redman.
