Best known as Coach Eric Taylor on the television series Friday Night Lights and for his starring roles in the series Early Edition and Bloodline. He has also appeared in the films Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, The Wolf of Wall Street, King Kong and Super 8.
He attended college at the University of Georgia before being scouted on one of ABC's talent searches.
He won the 2011 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role on Friday Night Lights.
He married Kathryn Chandler in 1995 with whom he has had two children.
He played a supporting role alongside Ben Affleck in the Academy Award winning film Argo.
