Crowned Miss Oklahoma in 2006, this American beauty pageant contestant went on to win the 2007 Miss America title. A vocalist as well as a beauty queen, she aspired to be a Broadway musical theater performer.
After graduating from MacArthur High School, she enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma.
She was the second Miss Oklahoma in a row to be crowned Miss America; her predecessor, Jennifer Berry, hailed from Jenks, OK.
She was born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma. She and her husband Randy Faram welcomed their first child, a son named Mason, in 2013.
In support of her Miss America platform -- "Be NetSmart - Protecting Kids Online" -- she assisted television host John Walsh in apprehending child predators on a segment of the FOX series America's Most Wanted.
