She was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Margaret was a member of a local theater company called The Charleston Youth Company which has been serving area youth since 1978.

2005

Margaret Anne starred in Death Cab for Cutie's music video for What Sarah Said from the band's 2005 studio album, Plans. The What Sarah Said video was included in the band's 2006 DVD, Directions: The Plans Video Album, which was nominated for Best Long Form Music Video at the 2007 Grammy Awards.

Florence's first film role was in 2006's My Super Ex-Girlfriend, alongside Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson. In 2009, she played the role of 'Alexis Danella' in Kevin Costner's horror-thriller The New Daughter.
