She was born in Rosario, Argentina to Jorge Horacio Messi and Celia María Cuccittini. In addition to Lionel, she has two other older brothers named Rodrigo and Matias.
Her brother Lionel became teammates with fellow star forward Neymar on FC Barcelona.
