Known for his roles in such Turkish films as Hamam, Istanbul Tales, and Ses, he was the 1998 recipient of an Ankara International Film Festival Award.
Before beginning his acting career, he worked as both a model and a bartender.
For his role in the film O Simdi Asker (He's in the Army Now), he earned a 2003 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival Award.
A native of Istanbul, Turkey, he attended his home city's Liceo Italiano. In 2006 he married Katerina Mongio and together they had three children: Maya, Cloe and Ali.
He appeared in the 2007 Jon Keeyes-directed film, Fall Down Dead.
