Figure skater who won his first Olympic gold medal representing Russia with partner Elena Ilinykh in 2014. He previously won the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in 2010.
He was born in Moscow and began training under Alexander Zhulin in 2005.
He and Elena Ilinykh were named Discovery of the Year at the Crystal Ice Awards in 2010.
His mother was also a figure skater.
He competed against Canada's Scott Moir at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
