Experimental electronic musician and singer best known as a member of the psychedelic pop group Animal Collective. He has also released acclaimed solo albums, such as Person Pitch.
He studied Religion at Boston University before forming Animal Collective in New York in the early 2000's.
His solo album Person Pitch was named as the best album of 2007 by the influential music website Pitchfork Media.
He married fashion designer Fernanda Pereira and together they have a son and a daughter.
He was chosen by Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum to perform at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in England in 2011.
