Her mother, Elissa Ambrose, had a career as a romance Writer. She married Todd Swidler in 2004; they became parents to daughters Chloe and Anabelle.
She briefly worked for Harlequin Enterprises Ltd., a romance-genre publishing company that published the early work of Writer Janet Daily.
