She worked as a worship leader while attending North Park University to earn a degree in communication. She then became a featured vocalist on the universities spoken word album.
She has served as a worship leader for Willow Creek Community church and led worship alongside fellow singer Darlene Zschech.
Her father, Robert Irving III, was a jazz musician and musical Director for Miles Davis. Her younger brother Jeremy, known by his stage name Jeremiah Jae, is a Producer.
She was beaten out by Comedian Paul Zerdin in the semifinals of America's Got Talent.
