He briefly considered a career as a Psychiatrist and was planning to attend Auburn University, but he decided to sign with Rise Records and pursue his career as a musician.

His family encouraged his musical talent from a young age, encouraging him to play drums as a child. He is very close with his family. He has posted photos on Instagram of his sister and nephew.
