Celebrity chef, entrepreneur, and television star who initially rose to fame as the star of BBC's 2008 television series What to Eat Now, which was based on his book which bore the same name. He went on to host series like Valentine Warner: Coast to Coast, Ration Book Britain, and Valentine Warner Eats the Sixties. He has been a guest chef on programs including Great British Food Revival, Love Your Garden, and Country Show Cook Off. He is also the founder of Moorland Spirit Company, which produces the Northumberland spirit Hepple Gin.
After graduating from Bedales School in Hampshire, he studied portrait painting at the Byam Shaw School of Art. He began his culinary career with positions in a variety of London-based eateries, under the mentorship of chefs like Alastair Little and Rose Cararina. He launched a private catering company called Green Pea before making his television debut in the year 2008.
He has contributed culinary pieces for publications such as The Times, The Independent, and Waitrose Food Illustrated. He has also authored the books The Good Table: Adventures In and Around My Kitchen, What to Eat Next, and The Consolation of Food: Stories About Life and Death, Seasoned with Recipes.
He is the son of Simone Georgina de Ferranti and former British Ambassador to Japan, Frederick Warner. He shares 2 children with his ex-wife, Charlotte Warner. He has expressed that cooking helped him endure the pain of being separated from his children when he divorced in 2020 and his ex-wife continued to raise them abroad.
