Actor who played military intelligence officer Colonel Flagg on the iconic TV series M*A*S*H, and was nominated for two Tony Awards for his performances on Broadway in Cabaret and Promises, Promises.
He was born in Ventura, California, and worked with the San Francisco Repertory Theater before making the move to Broadway.
He starred in the NBC drama Project UFO in 1979, and played the recurring role of Congressman Walter McCallum on the 1970s sitcom Soap. He also did voice-over work for animated shows such as The Angry Beavers and Paddington Bear.
He married Linda Foster in 1980. He died in Woodland Hills, California from complications due to Parkinson's disease.
He appeared with Alan Alda on M*A*S*H.
