Hank & Doug Meijer was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. Brothers Hank and Doug Meijer are co-chairman of Michigan-based grocery chain Meijer. Hank is also CEO.
The brothers took over the family-owned company from their father, Frederik, in 1990.
Their father and grandfather, Hendrik, a Dutch immigrant, started the company in 1934.
Today Meijer operates over 230 supermarkets throughout the Midwest and has estimated sales of $16.6 billion.
