In 2014, Franco became a third baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies. By mid-2015, he had a batting average of .274 and a career total of 54 hits and 9 home runs.
Before making his MLB debut in a September 2014 game against the Braves, he played for the Gulf Coast Phillies; the Williamsport Crosscutters; the Lakewood Blue Claws; the Clearwater Threshers; the Reading Fightin Phils; and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
At the conclusion of his 2013 Minor League season, he was honored with the Paul Owens/Phillies Minor League Player of the Year Award.
He spent his youth in Azua, Dominican Republic.
A year before he was invited to play for the Phillies, Franco lost the same opportunity during a spring training competition against fellow third baseman Cody Asche.
