Jiu jitsu featherweight who is widely known for his aggressive entertaining style of grappling. He earned his second black belt win at the 2004 World Championships and has been crowned both Pan American and European Champion on his way to international renown.
He won the first 9 black belt fights of his career. His first loss came in 2004 against Daniel Morales.
He was crowned champion of the World Cup of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu twice between 2008 and 2010. He has fought as a sponsored fighter for Team Alliance.
He was originally born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
He has maintained a close friendship with, and frequently sparred alongside, Fabricio Werdum.
