Prolific Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor who is known as one of the most accomplished in the sport. He won his second world championship in 2013, and earned his fifth silver medal in 7 years at the 2016 games in California.
He began practicing jiu jitsu in the early 2000's after being bullied at school. He began his career in his teen years at the Fight Zone Academy.
He won eight straight World Nogi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu championships between 2008 and 2015.
His mother was his earliest supporter of his jiu jitsu to end his school bullying. His brother Kim is also a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor.
He helped train Carlos Condit ahead of his UFC 154 bout with Georges St-Pierre.
