NHL defenseman who made his debut with the Washington Capitals in 2013, after playing only 14 games in the American Hockey League. He played college hockey at the University of Minnesota.
After playing at St. Cloud Cathedral High School, he spent a season with the United States Hockey League's Fargo Force.
He was a first-team All-WCHA selection and second-team All-American during his junior season at Minnesota.
He grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
