British Philosopher who specialized in the study of concepts, the philosophy of mathematics, and the theories of Immanuel Kant.
He studied law at Charles University in Prague from which he graduated in 1935. He was an officer in the cavalry from 1936 until 1939.
He wrote What is Philosophy? in 1969, Categorial Frameworks in 1970, and Metaphysics: Its Structure and Function in 1984.
His family was Jewish, and he had to flee Czechoslovakia for the United Kingdom because of the rise of the Nazis. He married Edith Laner in 1944. His son was Mathematician Thomas Körner, and his daughter was Ann M. Körner, a biochemist, Writer, and translator.
He was instructed by Ludwig Wittgenstein and R. B. Braithwaite while a student at the University of Cambridge.
