Bareikis was born in Bloomington, Indiana in July 1966. She has partial Lithuanian ancestry. She is a 1988 graduate of Stanford University. Her father is a professor of Germanic literature at Indiana University.
Bareikis starred alongside Rob Schneider as Kate in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) and played LAPD police officer Chickie Brown in the police drama series Southland for its first three seasons. In 2016, Bareikis appeared in the series Power as MJ.
