He would frequently collaborate with classical Musicians, such as the Baroque-swing album Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio with Jean-Pierre Rampal.
He was a child Prodigy, and his family ensured that he cultivated his talents, enrolling him at the Nice Conservatory early on.
He was close friends with Oscar Peterson.
