English actor, musician, and recording Artist with The Monkees who sang "Daydream Believer." He appeared in Love, American Style and My Two Dads.
He grew up acting but stopped after his mother died so he could become a jockey. His first big acting gig was in Oliver!, for which he almost won a Tony Award.
He was the only Monkee who was already signed to a deal with the studio before the group was created.
He married Linda Haines on October 31, 1968, then Anita Pollinger on January 24, 1981, and then finally Jessica Pacheco on August 30, 2009.
He had roles on The Brady Bunch, which starred Gary Cole.
